About Us and Our Meat
Jersey Beef is a juicy and flavorful beef that comes from a dairy breed of cattle. Over the years, advancements in nutrition have allowed farmers to use dairy cattle to produce a prime beef product. Our cattle are locally raised here at Berry College. They grow on wide-open pastures and are supplemented with a grain ration that contains no animal byproducts. The Berry Farms Jersey Beef looks to provide its consumers with the healthiest quality beef. In following this philosophy, we make sure our cattle are free of added growth hormones. The Berry Farms Jersey Beef is run entirely by students. We started in October of 2008 as a very small enterprise and since then we have successfully sold over 20 animals to the local community including a high school in Atlanta, a butcher shop in Rome, and many individuals seeking high quality beef. The students do everything from feeding and raising the animals to selling the animals, managing all aspects of the business, and even taking the animals to processing.
